Students like working with me because I make things light.

Despite setbacks with health, I dedicated the last three years of my life to writing an unpublished collection of essays about the work of literary anthropologist Vincent Crapanzano.

She made an intensive French course very enjoyable while making sure I benefited fully from the course. She is very knowledgeable and professional, her laid-back approach alongside her fun character are really unique. I took an intermediate level French course with Maya and really enjoyed it. Maya brought in a lot more to complement our established course material. She was able to find just the right balance between new grammar concepts, review, practice exercises and creative activities. Her enthusiasm, dedication and knowledge really show.

I really appreciated Maja’s style of teaching. She was kind and respectful and took to heart the learning experience of each of her students. She created an inclusive space that facilitated learning and participation. I have taken French classes and this summer in Maja’s class was my first positive experience that really addressed my needs as an adult learner.

During the Summer 2013 I was fortunate to have Maja as my instructor for a French language continuing education course at Dawson College.

Maja’s expert knowledge of French and other languages instilled confidence in the class. She was able to effectively manage a large class size and used a variety of teaching techniques to cater to a range of skill levels within the class. Her energy and charisma created a positive learning environment, which encouraged the entire class to participate and improve our French language oral presentation, reading, writing, and grammar skills.

She demonstrated effective lesson planning to incorporate a variety exercises while ensuring the intended course objectives, and my expectations of the course, were met and exceeded.

Recently, I have completed an intermediate French language class at Montreal’s Dawson College and was very pleased to have Maja Nazaruk as my instructor.

Maja is truly a rare find in her field. Her relentless energy and enthusiasm are nothing short of contagious, and throughout the course, her tireless dedication to the task and generous encouragements engaged our full attention and participation. As well, Maja is an avid polyglot. Her complete mastery of French coupled with her ability to clearly communicate the material highly inspired my renewed interest in the language.

In class, Maja constantly fosters an atmosphere of mutual respect and support and goes the extra mile to accommodate students’ needs in subtle yet very effective and inventive ways. Lastly, Maja showed remarkable initiative in proposing and organizing an off-campus social activity concluding our class, which put our acquired language skills to work.

I had seldom observed this level of teacher commitment in group courses before and would like to sincerely wish Maja all the best in her future endeavours.

I have had many lessons in various languages, but I can say with conviction that Maja was quite a remarkable teacher. She had the will. She was capable to give the students an interesting lesson at the same time. She is rich with information and everybody in the class loved her. I wish her a very good career.

Maja was our instructor for the French Conversation Level 2 course at Dawson College in 2010. She was very passionate and energetic and I thoroughly enjoyed the learning experience. It was very educative – I was able to understand the nuances of the language at that level in both the written and spoken forms and practice them effectively. She would give numerous examples and take different approaches to make the point clearer. It was also a very enlightening experience – we were able to learn a lot of different things about the French culture, especially the cuisine, as it exists in Montreal and elsewhere.

J’ai pris des cours de la langue française de la part de nombreux professeurs, mais Maja était parmi les meilleurs. Merci Maja!

Maja was my French teacher in level 3 at Dawson College. I enjoyed her class very much because of her passion and her unique teaching style. She encouraged us to talk more and more in class, and we often had a wonderful discussion. As a result, we improved our french very quickly. She was also very generous in sharing her life experience, hobbies, etc. It was really fun to go to her class. I would love to recommend her for French teaching positions.
